My Brief Stint in Prison

Yesterday I went on a tour of Kilmainham Gaol with my history class. It was amazing to actually be there after seeing it in several films.







There was a lot of graffiti done by prisoners:


Some of the cells had names above them to show where famous people, like Patrick Pearse, were held:


The tour ended outside in the yard where prisoners were executed (very eerie but also interesting):


Afterwards we made a stop at the National Museum of Ireland's storage room. 


Unfortunately we were not allowed to take pictures, but we did get to see their full inventory of guns and swords. We even got to hold some rifles! It was an amazing opportunity and a great museum. Even better, it's free admission!
